cool, awesome i use it in my lecture class and it works great even in my big lecture hall where people talk(and the teacher doesnt use the mic). i usually keep it on high sensetivity.
a neat little device, The recorder works well and is easy to use. It is tiny and seems a bit fragile, but that is the trend nowadays. I certainly would recommend it to a friend.
great recording for all your lectures, is use this to record my nursing lectures and it works great. if only it can intuitively adjust when my instructor moves about the room without losing any content, that's the only reason I give it a 4/5. once it is able to predict the future it gets a 5/5.
although it has a slide out usb it also has a cable extension just for convenience (almost there).
either way I would recommend this to anyone who needs to record and play back a lecture.

Smaller than I was expecting, I had to think for a minute on how to title this review and settled on the first thing I thought when I opened the package - 'this is smaller than I was expecting!'
This recorder fits easily into the palm of my hand so it will be challenge for somebody like me to NOT misplace it. I have already found myself hunting feverishly for it only to find it in a corner of my briefcase.
I had an issue with the item when it arrived:
A day after it got to me I noticed that there were a couple of scratches on it and in one place the silver finishing was faded. It all suggested that the item was not new. I was apprehensive but I found the 'Return Items and Gifts' area, registered my complaint and indicated I wanted a replacement not a refund. I got an immediate email with apologies from Amazon.com and was informed that a replacement was being dispatched. Within 36 hours it had arrived. The original was re-packaged and returned with Amazon.com picking up the shipping charge.
I was very impressed and that one experience has probably endeared Amazon.com to me more than the trouble-free experiences I have had with my other purchases.
I am not a Luddite but these electronic items have way too many features, all modifiable by the user. To be honest, the most I have done with this unit so far is insert the battery, set the date and time, use the USB to hook it to my computer and review the folders, eject it and then gingerly do a recording that went something like, 'testing, testing, testing 1,2,3,4 testing'. I did that out in the open and heard lots of ambient noises when I played it back so I will have to go into some of these features and tweak them.
I like this recorder and expect to be using it heavily once I have re-read and re-read the instructions and can follow them to competently use this barely-a-handful piece of technology.
A very, very nice recorder, I purchased this ICD-UX200 recorder after reading the reviews from several competitive models. This Sony recorder is superb. I use mine for recording meeting proceedings. The quality of the recording is excellent. I play the recordings through a set of old Bose noise-cancelling headphones. The clarity exceeded my expectations. The recorder comes with 10 folders already established. When plugging into the USB port the unit shows up as a removable disk. Each of the folder names can be modified easily; number of folders can be either expanded or reduced as necessary. I travel a fair amount. The ICD-UX200 recorder makes for a great MP3 player. An inexpensive male-male 3.5 mm patch cord permits plugging into the car MP3 auxilliary jack. All in all a very nice recorder and in my estimation a wonderful value.
Awesome Product, Best thing i like is that : - It has a rechargeable battery & i can charge it just by connecting to the USB of my laptop !! ... Recording quality is great too.
Nice Digital Voice Recorder, I bought this recorder for my son to use when he sits down at the piano to compose music, and creates something that he wants to be able to remember. With this recorder, he can record what he is creating and is able to replay it, and then put it down in writing.
Great stuff!, Unless you really, really have to get a more expensive recorder, this is an excellent one. It records great, easy to use plus plays MP3 and you can also save your documents/files and folders on the flash drive. Again, UNLESS you really have to spend more ...
DOES NOT ALLOW DICTATION EDITING, I would have thought that any recording device would give you the option to review what you dictated/recorded and then make changes anywhere it was needed. This does not. You can review what you dictated but then when you go to record again, you must do so in a new file. I love the fact it has folders and files (recordings) but who can dictate a long letter or document without needing a quick review of something you said earlier or making a change somewhere, be it middle or even at the end? I would say this is good for meetings or music or anything you want to just record from beginning to end with no changes.
