Constantly having to reset it This thing was good at first but I am definitely hating it now. The good features are that it records in common mp3 file format and is accessible like any other USB device. Both are handy features.The bad features are that it constantly freezes. Yes a voice recorder that crashes folks. I constantly have to open the battery compartment and take a battery out and put it back in so it will reboot. I then have to reset the clock. So basically it's a POS. I don't know if I just got a bad one or not. I'm going to try to return it but it's been a while since I bought it. It took a while before this behavior started occurring.I'm not happy.
Price Hike.. this was cheaper several months ago This is a great device and I have since given mines away to someone who needs it and I will need to purchase another but this price is way more than what I paid several months ago.So I give this item five starts because this is made of quality and records very well and clear how ever the price has been hiked and it makes no sense to pay this much for this item.This item comes with a case and has a lot of options for a recorder. Nice buttons and nice quality look and feel. The case is nice because it keeps the screen from getting scratched.Shop around before you pay this current price. I paid $50.00 for this months ago.
Fantantastic This is a jewel! I needed to produce DVD's for exhibitions. With this I could record several sound tracks some with speaking into mic some from iTunes some with crowd noise and ramp each track up or down. My final product was awesome.My husband uses it to record short stories as read by their authors and again his final product is awesome.This product is very intuitive and thus easy to use.
Customer Service Customer Service was fabulous from Olympus! Owning an Olympus VN 2100pc since 2006 I needed help with software transferring the recorded messages to my PC and the updates.

Sound is Excellent I bought this recorder for recording my classes because I am not native English speaker and I sometimes find professors speak so fast. This semester has just finished. And this product deserved a recommendation. I recommend this product definitively!What are the PROSIt is amazing because sound is so clear and battery is enough for hours.
Good Investment I purchased a rebuilt VN8100PC to save money and try it out. Most Happy with this selection.People can talk faster than I can listen particularly when teaching me about my computer capabilities. The Olympus VN8100PC paid for itself on is first use. The directions for use were straight forward and it worked perfectly. I just turned it on and stuck it in my shirt pocket and recorded the one hour computer instruction lesson. Yes I told Aaron I was recording. I was able to directly access a section of the session from the Olympus and answer my question again.There may be other Voice Recorders that will work. I'm most pleased with this one.
No problems I was surprised how sensitive the recorder is and the batteries last a very long time. Have had absolutely no problems with it and it has exceeded my expectations.
Excellent for lectures church services conferences etc. Great sound quality I actually bought the Zoom H2N first and found the audio quality to be too muffled. That was a $190 product. I think that product is geared more for musicians and band players however. I had to return that because the volume level was too poor and I could hardly make out what the speaker was saying. Then I got the VN8100PC to see how it would do. And I must say the sound quality on this is outstanding. The speaker comes in loud and clear and I don't have to crank up the volume at all. I use the LP filter and I put it on meeting and used the MP3 192kbps quality and gave it a go. And wow this device comes in very clear.
Good product I coupled this product with Sanyo rechargable batteries/recharger. Without spending too much I've been pleased with its performance and recommend it.
