works for my purpose bought this to record off a mixing board. Easy to set up a basic recording function. Used 320kbp MP3. Also tried the mics in a theatre play. Decent pick up of the stage but not as directional as I would have liked it as it picked lots of ruffling from the audience. But when the stage volume is loud enough it gives very surprisingly good balanced audio although i had to touch up the Eq later on. Would be nice for an expanderlimiter function to be built in but thats asking too much. Overall good product.
Studio quality in a portable I bought this recorder after using the zoom h4. This recorder is amazing!! I recorded acoustic guitar and cello outside and it picked up very nice with amazing background sound. It is easy to use and I especially like that it uses aa batteries as I have bulk aa.
I bought this here in Amazon Hi just wanted to say I'm using this recorder and it is absolutely amazing the stuff you can get once you understand how it works.Not only it's a great recorder but an external USB soundcard and an instrument tuner things I realized once I read the manual.You can record from several different microphones at the same time and generate independent tracks of the same audio with various flavors from the different microphones.
Great device This recorder has features way beyond anything I need. I bought it to record my piano practice and to occasionally make a CD for friends and family. It is superb for this use and relatively easy to use by someone like myself who has no previous experience with digital recorders. I have shown it to 2 friends who do much more sophisticated recording and both of them say they have to get one.
Zoom H4n rocks The Zoom H4n is a great portable recorder. It really picks up all the nuances of the recording is easy to use and provides a superior experience for music recording. The bundle upgrades the memory card from 1 to 8GB provides a remote controller so I can easily use the system from behind my drums and has a adaptor for use on a standard mic stand. Nice features for self recording. This is a great system and package.
Great value This product is made for podcasters and radio journalists. It has a lot of features like 4ch recording or auto levels looks pretty professional and is very good in recording sound doesn't matter is it music or voice.Great value for this price.
Best Deal Out There The Zoom H4N is a great companion to my Canon 7D. The best thing about this mic is the price all the accessories it comes with. The headphones are fine for monitoring sound but don't expect to rock out on your iPod. The quality is pretty lame. Super happy with my purchase.
Great Combo I published a separate review of the H4N at it's product page. For the price this combo can't be beat. I basically paid what the unit would have cost alone and got a few extras. The remote is good has a decent lenght cord and works well to elimnate handling noise. The headphones sound decent in a quiet environment. They aren't the best I've used but the aren't the worst either. Tripod cables and memory cards are good to stuff in a bag to have on hand. The memory card seems to be performing acceptably in the unit so no complaints. I would buy the combo again.
Great recorder! This little device packs plenty of recording power. I have been using smaller digital recorders up til now but this one gives me so much more control over the sound levels for each input. The remote is very handy I can put the recorder in a jacket pocket and use the remote and external mic to do the recordings much less bulky.
